Summer outdoor
education programs

Choose any combination of the following activities to design your school’s own outdoor education program, field trip or retreat.

  • Abseiling
  • Rock climbing
  • Canoeing – white water up to grade 2 and open water
  • River sledding
  • Hiking – half and full day to multi-day hikes
  • Mountain biking
  • Raft building and initiative games
  • Archery
  • Camping – in the Kosciusko National Park or on-site at Bungarra in either tents or hoochies
  • GPS/orienteering
  • Sailing
  • Full sized sports field
  • Disco

Alternatively, you may wish to design an expedition style journey for your students where they may hike for 5 days across the Main Range or choose to travel through an area by hiking, biking and canoeing.


Sample of a Summer Program Matrix

A = Full day hike in the Kosciuszko National Park from Thredbo, up the chair, to North Ramshead and back to Thredbo via Deadhorse Gap
B = 1/2 day Mountain Bike Session on-site Bungarra
C = 1/2 day Canoe Session on Lake Jindabyne
D = 1/2 day Camp Craft & Hike with packs in National Park
E = 1/2 day Archery & Team Building on-site Bungarra Alpine Centre

1 = The Junction Lodges – 2 groups on-site
2 = Thredbo Diggings Campsite – Kosciuszko National Park: group cooking, 2 groups in 2 separate sites
3 = Island Bend Campsite – Kosciuszko National Park: ration packs, 2 groups in 2 separate sites
