One of ALI’s critical success factors has been the strategic partnerships that it has formed with other local businesses. These strategic partnerships are important in allowing ALI to maximize our customer experience and safety. These strategic partners include:
Thredbo - (Kosciusko Thredbo Pty Ltd)
Thredbo ski resort is located within the Kosciuszko National Park which is regarded as Australia’s Best Year Round Alpine Resort. In summer time Thredbo's major attraction is that it is the closest access point to Mt Kosciuszko, Australia's highest mountain. In the winter Thredbo is renowned as Australia's premier alpine resort offering the longest runs, the steepest chutes and the highest lifted point in Australia.
We use Thredbo Ski Resort exclusively during the winter months to conduct our on snow program. During the summer months the resort is also used as a launch point for walks to Mt Kosciuszko.

The Kosciuszko National Park
This is one of the world's great national parks, and the largest in New South Wales. Covering almost 675,000 hectares, the park contains the highest mountains in Australia, the famous Snowy River and all NSW ski fields. Its many and varied attractions include walks through alpine herb fields; spectacular caves and limestone gorges; scenic drives; and historic huts and homesteads.
Action Learning Initiatives utilise the park extensively when conducting programs. Areas that are used within the park include:
- Campsites - Island Bend, Thredbo Diggings, Ngarigo and Pinch
- Education centre at Sawpit Creek
- Hikes over the main range
- Canoeing in the Lower Snowy River
- Mountain biking within the Park
Snowy Hydro
Snowy Hydro has an extensive education program that offers a unique learning experience for students from Primary School to Year 12. ALI uses Snowy Hydro as part of our curriculum based programs, with a site visit to the Cooma education centre and then visiting the facilities first hand in the national park.
Outdoor Recreation Industry Council (ORIC)
The Outdoor Recreation Industry Council of NSW (ORIC) is recognised as the Peak Body for the Outdoor Recreation Industry in New South Wales, representing the interests of outdoor recreation users in NSW, and assisting the outdoor recreation and education community by providing representation, information, services, resources and training. ALI is a member of ORIC and is committed to having a united industry with a peak body overseeing the that safe practices and guidelines are adhered to by all outdoor education / recreation operators.
