In delivering quality outdoor experiences and journeys ALI works in close partnership with a number of other organisations.
Bungarra Alpine Centre
This is the base site for our programs, located on 200 acres of bushland, 5kms out of Jindabyne. Lodges are purpose built for groups ranging from 20-220 providing quality accommodation and meals year round.
For more information and layout out of our site and accommodation visit www.bungarra.com.au
Thredbo – (Kosciusko Thredbo Pty Ltd)
Thredbo ski resort is located within the Kosciuszko National Park and is regarded as Australia’s best year round alpine resort.
We use Thredbo ski resort exclusively for our resort based programs during the winter months. During the summer months the resort is also used as a launch point for walks to Mt Kosciuszko.
National Parks and Wildlife Service – The Kosciuszko National Park
Action Learning Initiatives utilise the park extensively when conducting programs. Areas that are used within the park include:
- Campsites – Island Bend, Thredbo Diggings, Ngarigo and Pinch
- Education centre at Sawpit Creek
- Hikes over the main range
- Canoeing in the lower Snowy River
- Mountain biking within the Park
- Back-country Skiing expeditions and snow shoe hikes
Tourism Snowy Mountains
ALI uses Snowy Hydro as part of our curriculum based programs, with a site visit to the Cooma education centre and then visiting the facilities first hand in the Kosciusko National Park.
Outdoor Recreation Industry Council (ORIC)
ALI will be working closely with ORIC on the development of the Adventure Activity standards (AAS). ALI is represented on the steering committee that will develop and implement the new NSW Adventure Activity Standards.
Our guides complete regular industry accreditation as White Water and Flat Water guides and we are a course provider for this national organisation, responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of paddle sports in Australia.
